Cat-Astrophy launches tomorrow

Cat-Astrophy launches tomorrow on six storefronts at once, made by one person. It is a pixel-art action roguelite with a combat idea unlike anything else in its genre.

Cat-Astrophy, developed by Heraan Studios and published by DOJO System, arrives tomorrow, 5 November, for €14.99 on Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

The protagonist is Polo, a cat astronaut abducted and stranded in a universe corrupted by a cosmic catastrophe. He has forgotten who he is. Every expedition gives him back a fragment of memory, and no two expeditions are alike: planets are procedurally generated, each with its own creatures, secrets and mechanics.

Between runs, Star Fragments unlock upgrades that stay with you. Within each run, a system of offensive, defensive and support modules combine with one another and hide synergies the game never explains: you have to find them.

The Stellar Cursor
Polo moves with dash, jump, wall-slide and wall-jump, like any precision platformer. But he does not shoot where he looks: you aim with a separate cursor. Hands apart, two problems at once. That turns every room into a negotiation between where you put your body and where you put the hit, and it is what sets Cat-Astrophy apart from every other 2D action roguelite.
