The Necromancer’s Tale: A Lovecraftian, Story-Rich Gothic RPG is OUT NOW on Steam
The wait is over. Psychic Software’s dark, story-driven gothic RPG The Necromancer’s Tale is now available worldwide on PC via Steam. Players can finally immerse themselves in the sinister underworld of 18th-century Italy, where necromancy is a dangerous path to power, secrecy, and transformation.

Blending the narrative ambition of Disco Elysium with the tactical design of classic CRPGs, The Necromancer’s Tale invites players to step into the role of a minor noble drawn into the hidden world of death magic and political intrigue. Whether through whispered conversations or forbidden rituals, your every decision shapes not only your fate, but that of the living and the dead.
With over 400,000 words of branching narrative, 180+ unique NPCs, and a faction-based trust system where actions carry lasting consequences, The Necromancer’s Tale offers a rich gothic RPG experience where morality blurs and unseen terrors lurk in the shadows.
“It’s been an incredible journey building this world, one filled with hard work, late nights, and our fair share of madness,” said Game Director Sam Redfern and Marketing Director Kirsty Halloran. “Today, players finally get to step into the shadows we’ve created and write their own dark story. We can’t wait to see where their descent leads.”
The game draws from Lovecraftian themes to craft a world where reality is fragile, unknown horrors lurk just beyond sight, and power always comes with a price.
