Kate Robson joins eSC as Head of Programmes
Kate Robson will take on the role of Head of Programmes within the eSC Commission, the eSkootr Championship™ (eSC) is pleased to announce. Robson, who joins eSC from the FIA, will head up rider development programmes, focusing both on professional riders at the pinnacle of the first racing series for electric scooters and at the grassroots.
Robson will be a key figure in the eSC Commission, eSC’s research, education and policy think tank established to create best sporting practice for our new category of racing. The Commission will also lead on eSC’s mission to develop safety, sustainability and technological relevance for the real world of micromobility.
Robson brings extensive sports administration experience to eSC having previously joined the FIA Institute in 2011 heralding Robson’s focus on motorsport development programmes, a role that would see her forge strong relationships with National Sporting Authorities (ASNs) worldwide.
Developing safety programmes
While at the FIA Institute, Robson provided guidance and support for sporting development projects to help improve motorsport safety through a range of global grants. Robson managed the accreditation programme and the Institute’s network of Regional Training Providers, helping run workshops and outreach programmes to ensure consistently high levels of provision.
Consolidating global relationships with Governing Bodies
Robson later joined the FIA as Head of the Sport Grant Programme. Once again, the role demanded a close working relationship with ASNs seeing Robson playing a key role in the development and organisation of FIA-supported training programmes for event officials and young drivers, capacity building programmes for sporting clubs and safety-related projects.
From top level to grassroots
In her role as Head of Programmes, Robson will help build relationships with eSC’s diverse collection of riders and support the selection process of those who will make up the first ever draft of professional eScooter racers.
Education and Grassroots
Robson will help create clear development pathways for new competitors, connecting sporting and education programmes to a younger audience which will help make eSC more accessible and relevant than any other racing series.
