Imaginative RTS Toy Tactics introduces new modes and challenges
Physics-based strategy game continues to bring more new and challenging content for players with the release of Mercenary and Puzzle Modes
Kraken Empire is happy to share that the latest update to Toy Tactics is here and it introduces brand new ways to play the game with the introduction of Mercenary and Puzzle Modes.
As if it wasn't fun enough making miniature Romans fight tiny Samurais on the beaches of Tortuga, the developers have added spells, different AI modes to play against as well as additional gameplay changes that should up the stakes for players looking for a challenge and flesh out Toy Tactics offerings while it's still in Early Access.
Toy Tactics' latest update brings two new modes as well as a host of other features and improvements to the game. The biggest additions, the Puzzle and Mercenary Modes, will provide the best tacticians with new and refreshing ways to play the game outside of the base campaigns.
Puzzle mode will task players with completing tasks that take advantage of each faction’s unique traits, teaching players how best to use their units. Learn how to utilize the Roman army's ability to rebuild structures, or capitalize on the Samurais’ incredible stealth to complete missions. From there, it's up to players to use Toy Tactics' imaginative drawing system to stretch the bounds of possible strategies to win. The challenges will take place across the gamut of maps that have been added to Toy Tactics and feature music from every corner of the game.
The Mercenary Mode that arrives alongside Puzzle Mode introduces its own set of fun quirks and twists on the Toy Tactics formula. Mercenary Mode gives players a budget to build an army with. Success on the battlefield will be determined by players' abilities to overcome the odds, line their pockets with gold, and spend it purchasing units and spells to shift the tide of battle in their favor. Like a true tactician, make the choice between numerous weaker units or fewer powerful ones according to the needs of the ongoing battle.
Additionally, the Sandbox Mode has received some changes, including different AI modes of behavior and a broader set of levels to play in as well as several other updates and fixes that bring improvements and quality of life changes for players.
Toy Tactics is also part of the Steam Strategy Fest from now through September 4th! During Strategy Fest, the game will be discounted, making it the perfect time for players looking to get in on the fun of sending miniatures flying.
