Games Bavaria Munich joins the European Games Developer Federation
Games Bavaria Munich (GBM) is happy to announce it is joining the European Games Developer Federation (EGDF). With GBM as a new member, the EGDF strengthens its alliance with a reliable partner that will further bolster its efforts to protect and advocate for European game developers. The EGDF looks forward to closer collaboration with Bavarian game developers in their network, sharing best practices, addressing industry challenges, and working together to build a European games industry on European terms.
“The growth and competitiveness of the European game industry is built on strong regional industry ecosystems. It is essential for us to ensure that their voice is heard loud and clear in our decision making,” says Jari-Pekka Kaleva, Managing Director of the EGDF.
Games Bavaria Munich is the 27th member of the Federation. The organization has been steadily expanding its activities, particularly in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, now covering 24 European countries. The EGDF focuses on helping European game developers access talent, funding, and move up the game industry value chain - challenges Bavarian game developers are also facing.
“We at Games Bavaria Munich are delighted to formally join the European Games Developer Federation. Over the years we have already enjoyed a deeply collaborative relationship, and with this step we align the strength of Bavaria’s creative games ecosystem with the reach and impact of a pan-European network. Together, we will work to enhance developer conditions, ramp up innovation and secure our region’s place among Europe’s leading games hubs,” says Ben Zuckerer, chairman of the board of GBM.
