Death Howl Brings Its No-Mercy Deckbuilding to Consoles

Publisher, 11 bit studios, is proud to announce that Death Howl, the critically acclaimed soulslike deckbuilder, launches today on PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by The Outer Zone, Death Howl invites players into a haunting Spirit World where grief becomes the catalyst for an unforgiving journey.

As Ro, a mother determined to reclaim her son from death, players must master unforgiving grid-based tactical combat and craft deadly decks from over 160 cards. With its unique fusion of strategic deckbuilding and punishing soulslike mechanics - where resting revives enemies and every mistake is punished - Death Howl challenges players to learn, adapt, or die.

After its PC release, Death Howl has earned a "Very Positive" rating among players, with critics praising its masterful blend of seemingly disparate genres. The game's minimalist, woodcut-inspired pixel art and Scandinavian folklore atmosphere create an eerie, myth-shrouded world that lingers long after the final card is played.

: Also, in March 2026, the team will introduce Rebirth - an even more punishing version of the campaign that features evolved enemies with new abilities and enhanced stats, among a few other tweaks, and is designed for experienced hunters seeking a further challenge.

Death Howl will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (with day one Xbox Game Pass), Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 19th, bringing its no-mercy approach to deckbuilding and its profound narrative of loss, healing, and resilience to console players worldwide.
