World War II Games Sale Festival Starts Today on Steam
The World War II Games Sale starts today on Steam, presented by Fulqrum Publishing and bringing together a broad lineup of games inspired by one of history’s most devastating conflicts. The event is running through May 14 and showcases World War II games across many genres, from strategy and simulation to narrative-driven experiences, with discounts of up to 90% on selected titles.
From large-scale battlefield command to more intimate frontline perspectives, the event offers players a wide range of historical and combat-focused games that revisit World War II in different ways.
Event highlights
One of the main highlights of this year’s event is the start of the free playtest for the recently announced Theatre of War: Rearmed, available from today on Steam. The game brings together the complete Theatre of War series in one package, unified on the latest version of its original engine, with over 100 missions, improved mechanics, enhanced visuals, updated UI support, and modernized controls. Players can request access now via the game’s Steam page.
Also featured in the festival is a brand-new trailer and updated demo for Red Recon 1944, offering a fresh look at the game and a new chance for players to try it for themselves. Red Recon is an isometric real-time tactical game with stealth elements that puts players in command of a Soviet reconnaissance squad dropped behind enemy lines in East Prussia in the autumn of 1944
The event also includes Major Update 5 for Ground of Aces, continuing development on the World War II base-building strategy game with substantial additions and improvements. The game’s roadmap and recent update notes point to ongoing feature work, quality-of-life upgrades, and expanded demo functionality.
