Wholesome shopkeeping game Trash Goblin releases first major update: Spirit of Customer Service
Best Small Studio indie game developer Spilt Milk Studios is delighted to reveal that their ‘Very Positive’ rated wholesome shopkeeping game Trash Goblin has just released its first major update post-launch with Spirit of Customer Service. This latest 1.1 version adds upwards of two hours of new content - though a lot more if you’re a completionist!
The Spirit of Customer Service update adds 35 new trinkets, a mysterious new customer called The Spirit of Lost Things - who initiates their own bespoke questline, and a new quest for fan favorite lizard man Donoval. You could call it a sequel for Donoval!
That’s not all, as this 1.1 update adds a new district with the tourist trap Follybrink. If things are getting too hectic for you, don’t despair, as we’ve added an all new Shop Shut sign, allowing you to stop all customer traffic, make your business invite-only, or open as usual. There’s also new paperdolls, i.e. stranger Spiritfolk who will turn up at your shop alongside the rest of the colourful cast - which includes beloved returning characters like Redoir, Talmara, and Aunty. Completionists will also enjoy that there are seven new Achievements and three new cosmetic sets including a Summer theme, Spirit theme and a new Ambassador set!
On top of this we also have a new upcycling feature which allows you to choose from trinkets all around the workshop, rather than only those in your stash or immediate viewpoint.

“As we enter Trash Goblin’s post-launch era we wanted to continue to build our cozy craftsgoblin community and keep current goblins tinkering by adding more content,” said Andrew Smith, Creative Director at Spilt Milk Studios. “We’ve been listening to player feedback and know what people want. We saw people were having Donoval withdrawals and thought ‘We can’t have that! We need more Donoval!’ Well now we have that and a whole lot more! We’d like to thank our community by continuing to offer more trash - which is goblin for ‘treasure!’”
