Indie developer BetaLab, in partnership with publisher 2P Games, today announced that Pandora’s Toybox will officially launch on Steam on May 14 at 7pm PT, 10pm ET and May 15 4am CEST and 10am CST for $9.99 | €10,25 | £9.09. Blending god-simulator mechanics with rogue-like strategy and city-building, the game invites players to experience a divine sandbox where divine interventions influence the development of a living world.
A playable demo is currently available on Steam, offering a first-look at the game’s unique mechanics ahead of its full release.
In Pandora’s Toybox, players discover a living civilization contained within a mysterious sandbox. Acting as an unseen divine force, you wield macro-scale powers to influence the growth of this miniature world, guiding humble camps into thriving city-states. The game highlights the contrast between managing individual box-dwelling workers and exercising sweeping divine authority, inviting you to nurture your personal "digital bonsai" through strategic interventions.
One of the game’s core features is its Olympian Pantheon system, where players assemble a Divine Council by selecting three gods from a roster of eight iconic deities, including Zeus, Hades, and Apollo. With more than 189 possible skill combinations, the strategic synergy between gods creates a deep rogue-like layer, rewarding experimentation across multiple runs.
