Shard Squad Reveals Ice Character Pack in Collaboration with Bagdex, Anniversary Update Coming November 10!

Publisher Nuntius Games is pleased to announce that Shard Squad, the charming Brazilian bullet heaven developed by The Root Studios and available on PC and consoles, is about to celebrate its first anniversary with a variety of brand-new content arriving first on Steam on November 10.
A chilling breeze is coming to the Kingdom of Mellunia!
The first piece of new content is the Ice Character Pack, a paid DLC that adds four new playable Shards and finally introduces the Ice Element to the game.
The new characters joining the roster are Wendy, Klaugus V, Yukina, and Chillpup - the latter coming directly from another Brazilian game, Bagdex, as part of a very special collaboration.
The new Ice Shards each feature their own unique abilities, playstyles, evolutions, and synergies, opening up new builds, strategies, and ways to tackle the game’s challenges.
They were designed for players who enjoy controlling the battlefield and experimenting with defensive tactics, making use of freezing effects, crowd control, and enemy slowdowns to gain the upper hand.
Brand-new game modes to have fun or challenge yourself however you want!
The second major addition, also arriving on Steam first, is a free anniversary update that introduces new ways to enjoy Shard Squad.
To begin, the game will receive the Shard Swap Mode, a new feature that allows players to take full control of the next new shard that joins their team, while the previously controlled Shard becomes a support character. This option can be enabled or disabled at will, depending on your preferred playstyle.
Additionally, the free anniversary update will introduce Echoes of the Omen Mode, which unlocks after completing the game’s campaign.
In this mode, players must fight through condensed versions of all eight stages in the game, one after another. Each run is designed to last around 24 minutes, and completing it unlocks the next, more challenging difficulty level. There is no cap: the challenge keeps scaling infinitely each successful try.
Echoes of the Omen Mode will also feature its own dedicated leaderboard, highlighting the players who can conquer the mode at the highest possible difficulty level. How far can you go?
