Satisfactory Update 1.2 available now on PC and Console
Today, Coffee Stain Studios’ critically acclaimed factory automation game Satisfactory, is officially rolling out Update 1.2 along with a truckload of fresh features for Pioneers exploring and exploiting the alien world of MASSAGE-2(A-B)b.
Packed with fully FICSIT-compliant new features, Update 1.2 introduces a huge range of gameplay and quality-of-life improvements. These include remappable controller keybinds, randomised resource nodes, expanded game mode options, overhauled vehicle automation, and much more guaranteed to keep production lines running at maximum efficiency.
In keeping with its longstanding collaborative philosophy, these new additions have all been community tested and since updated through the Update 1.2 Experimental branch of the game, which was released on March 17th. Since then, players have been actively sharing feedback on the latest features, allowing plenty of time for the team to finetune and polish.
Satisfactory Update 1.2 is now available to play on Steam and Epic Games Store for PC players, and on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store for console players. Get your hard hats on and prepare for conveyor spaghetti in the latest update!
New Gameplay Features
Remappable controller bindings bring further customisation and accessibility to the Pioneers playing with PlayStation DualSense or Xbox controllers.
Randomised Nodes and new game mode options let players create a unique MASSAGE-2(A-B)b composition. Pioneers can use the new randomised nodes to change the frequency of ore deposit locations across five different presets, creating a different MASSAGE-2(A-B)b, while maintaining the number of nodes available. Additionally, there are brand new modifiers to enhance the gameplay experience, with the option to adjust Space Elevator costs, parts costs multipliers, resource purity, energy consumption, and even the world seed.
Weather changes bring back rain to MASSAGE-2(A-B)b, plus many more weather options, for the ultimate immersive experience. Choose between cloudy, windy, and stormy weather effects, complete with thunder and lightning.
Overhauled vehicle automation makes factory production and efficiency all the better. With the brand-new Update 1.2 vehicular system, the Truck, Tractor, Explorer, and the Factory Cart are having a refresh, making them smoother and better than before. Pioneers will now be able to create vehicle paths directly with their trusty Build Gun using the spline system, while benefiting from better suspension systems.
The Fluid Truck and Fluid Station bring brand new ways for Pioneers to move liquids around their factory. Fluids can now be picked up and deposited at Fluid Stations with the Fluid Truck, making fluid transportation safer and more airtight than before.
SPWN lets Pioneers keep their hygiene in check during the rough, long work hours in the factory. The SPWN serves as a toilet, and a spawn point, for players who need to go on the go, or to have as a portable respawn point when exploring across the vast, dangerous lands of MASSAGE-2(A-B)b.
Quality of Life Changes include plenty of gameplay improvements, such as power daisy chaining between buildings and power poles, a fog density slider, and a new T-shaped pipe, making fluid junctions more nifty than before. Additionally, players can now stop time in-game when entering the pause menu.
