The story-driven rock-and-roll management RPG, published by LICHTHUND and Critical Role, unveils its first confirmed Critical Role cast members - Matthew Mercer, Sam Riegel and Liam O’Brien, alongside a two-episode demo, with a third episode arriving at Steam Next Fest.
LICHTHUND and Critical Role today revealed major new details for ROCKBEASTS, the upcoming rock-and-roll management RPG, at The Triple-i Initiative. The announcement confirms the game's first Critical Role cast members, sets a release date, and introduces a free playable demo.
Critical Role's Matthew Mercer, Sam Riegel and Liam O’Brien are lending their voices to ROCKBEASTS, bringing three of the game's key characters to life, alongside previously announced Iggy Pop. Additional cast reveals are planned ahead of launch.
The game marks Critical Role's second foray into gaming, following their involvement in Adhoc Studio’s DISPATCH, and reinforces their growing presence in interactive entertainment, reflecting the company's commitment to story-driven, heartfelt titles that bring the same quality and craftsmanship audiences expect from their other storytelling ventures.
ROCKBEASTS will launch in January 2027, however players don't have to wait for launch to step behind the scenes of the music industry: a free demo is available on STEAM today, featuring the game's first two episodes. A third episode will be added for Steam Next Fest, offering an expanded look at the band's journey from garage obscurity toward stadium glory ahead of release.
ROCKBEASTS is ultimately planned for Steam, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2.
