Paper Trail marks the latest addition to our premium, design and preservation-focused EDITIONS label, joining the likes of Thank Goodness You’re Here!, Immortality, The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow, and Hauntii. Having released Arco and Norco in August, Paper Trail is our game for September, and what a beauty it is. With over 70 awards and nominations, including a BAFTA nomination and a Gamescom award win, it’s the perfect game to receive the EDITIONS treatment.
Paper Trail joins Arco in our Switch Bundle #02 and Norco in our PS5 Bundle #02 as the second in the respective tri-monthly bundles. Don’t miss out on the final title in the bundle launching in October with these handy bundle options! Limited copies remain for our previous releases.

Preservation is not just a buzzword for Lost In Cult - it’s one of our most core, passionate principles. As well as preserving the story behind games in our essay booklet, we of course ensure to properly preserve the game itself.
That’s why we’re the first company to work directly with DoesItPlay? - an archival group that tests every one of our games before we go to print, to ensure each is fully playable internet-free, completable from start to finish without a download, and includes the latest patches on disc/cartridge. Our games all work straight off the shelf, ensuring they’ll be playable today and into the future when servers may eventually switch off.
We’re serious about not wanting to lock titles away behind limited EDITIONS forever - availability is important and goes hand-in-hand with preservation. That’s why every one of our titles received a standard retail release on the same day as our launches, via our world-class US-based distribution partner PM Studios. We also sell variant covers versions of this standard release, exclusively on our store, for those not interested in the EDITIONS versions.
EDITIONS launch on a monthly basis, with Paper Trail our September release. Every month, you’ll see one new PS5 title, and one new Switch title in our collection. Full on-cart Switch 2 releases are also planned for the future.

Solve puzzles that challenge your wits and bring you through the world of Paper Trail. Travelling through the folds will introduce Paige to a unique cast of characters, who tell their stories and enlighten Paige about the wider world.
Experience the art of Paper Trail which draws heavily from flat aesthetic styles, like printmaking and watercolour, blended together to create a uniquely styled game that compliments the paper theme.
As with all EDITIONS, expect a completely bespoke package celebrating each game. Inside a custom mailer box with seasonally-rotated artwork is a beautiful outer slipcase, a pull-out inner coloured slipcase, a fold-out poster, an individually-numbered director’s authenticity card, a sticker, four art cards, and an essay & developer interview booklet.
All our physical releases are by our partners at DoesItPlay?, ensuring the full title is playable beginning to end, on cart, offline. Paper Trail will have its final version committed to disc/cartridge. We are unwaveringly dedicated to preserving games culture, and guarantee we will never release a Game-Key Card or download disc.
Paper Trail Original Soundtrack Vinyl
Lost In Cult Records and Newfangled Games invite you to experience the gentle and ethereal music of Paper Trail on vinyl for the first time, as you unfold the secrets of its world and guide Paige on her adventure from home.
Composed by multi-instrumentalist Claudie Mackula, the soundtrack blends vocal arrangements and instruments taking inspiration from traditional Celtic music, and combines it with an original creative touch to craft a unique musical experience that will take you on a journey to another world.
The “Origami Dreams” purple and pink variant is limited to 300 copies.

Also available alongside our EDITIONS, variant standard editions, and Paper Trail vinyl soundtrack - these limited art prints of our Paper Trail poster are printed on archival quality paper stock, with a cut of each sale given directly to the artists.
These art prints are exceptional works of art in themselves, and we hope some of you will enjoy displaying them in your home. Each is available and limited to just 100 units.
