Numskull Games Announce European Physical Release of Ikai
Numskull Games’ exciting partnership with PM Studios continues with the announcement they are publishing physical versions of the highly-anticipated first-person psychological horror game Ikai, in Europe.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese folklore and set in a feudal era, Ikai developed by Endflame, revolves around the priestess of a shrine struggling to defeat the spirits of her past and her present.
Ikai embodies the spirit of the classical psychological horror genre with a defenceless main character incapable of attacking the evil creatures. However, it explores a new sense of horror by making the player face the threats directly neither fleeing nor attacking.
Every mechanic of the game is meant to raise this relatable feeling of helplessness and create a tense atmosphere. The slow, precise and natural movements as a way of interaction resemble real life to foster immersion in the uncanny world of Ikai.
Physical releases of Ikai will be available for Nintendo Switch ® and PlayStation ® 4 and 5 in April 2022, priced at £34.99 / €39.99. Further updates including pre-order links will be posted on the Numskull Games social media channels closer to the release date.
