Hi-Fi Rush Meets Hades in new Hack-n-Slash Rhythm Game

Independent studio RibCage Games has released a brand-new demo and gameplay trailer for Alpha Nomos, its upcoming rhythm-action roguelite where music drives both combat and progression. Available now on PC via Steam, the new demo introduces expanded levels, progression systems, evolved combat mechanics, and a living soundtrack that changes with every run.

Set in a world shattered by the mysterious force known as the Alpha Nomos, the game follows Cello, a fighter navigating a post-apocalyptic landscape overrun by corrupted puppets. Her arsenal is made entirely of musical instruments, turning every encounter into a rhythmic battle where attacks, enemy patterns, and environmental reactions are all tied to the beat.

In Alpha Nomos, rhythm is at the core of the game’s design. Players strike enemies, dodge attacks, and build momentum in sync with the soundtrack, creating a flow where music and combat merge into a single system. Miss the beat and the world pushes back. Find it, and every action falls perfectly into place.

The demo introduces new arenas, a branching powerup evolution system, and deeper narrative elements that unfold between runs. As players progress, the soundtrack evolves alongside them, with new musical layers and rhythms emerging based on weapon choices, upgrades, and combat style.

“In Alpha Nomos, the music isn’t just playing in the background - it’s the rule that governs the entire world. Every weapon has its own sound, every upgrade changes the music, and every run becomes its own composition’’ said RibCage Games.

Drawing inspiration from rhythm-action titles such as Hi-Fi Rush, BPM: Bullets Per Minute, and Crypt of the NecroDancer, Alpha Nomos blends beat-driven combat with roguelite replayability and a distinctive visual style built around abandoned circuses, corrupted toys, and music-reactive environments.
