Hera and MarineLorD crowned Red Bull Wololo champions at historic Royal Albert Hall final

After six days of intense battles, strategic brilliance and unshakable nerve, two champions have been crowned at Red Bull Wololo: Londinium, claiming titles across Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires IV on one of the most iconic stages in the world, inside the Royal Albert Hall - marking the first time an esports event has ever been staged at the historic venue.

With a combined $250,000 prize pool on the line, the world’s best players went head-to-head across six days of competition, reinforcing Red Bull Wololo’s status as one of the premier events in the global Age of Empires esports calendar.

The champions of Red Bull Wololo: Londinium are:

  • Age of Empires II: Hamzah “Hera” El-Baher

  • Age of Empires IV: Alexis "MarineLorD" Eusebio

In front of a packed live audience and fans watching around the world, both champions delivered remarkable final performances to bring the eighth edition of Red Bull Wololo to a dramatic close, officially etching their names into Wololo history.

Spanning multiple landmark venues across London, the event showcased a new scale for competitive Age of Empires - from intimate early-stage matches to a sold out Grand Final attended by 3,000 fans. The finale itself delivered a defining moment for the scene: as players battled for the crown, a 60-piece live orchestra accompanied the action, transforming the competition into a cinematic spectacle and marking a groundbreaking evolution in esports presentation.

From April 1-6, 12 of the world’s top players competed across both titles, with every match carrying championship weight. The tournament also introduced a set of brand-new maps created specifically for Londinium, adding an extra layer of strategy to the competition. These maps will be made available in-game, extending the event’s impact beyond the final and into the wider player community.

The tournament began with the Group Stage where eight of the world’s best Age of Empires II players - Hera, Hearttt, Yo, MbL, Liereyy, TheViper, Sebastian, and ACCM - battled to secure their spots in the playoffs, setting the tone for an intense week of competition.

From there, the action shifted to the Odeon Luxe Cinema in Leicester Square. Here, the Age of Empires IV spotlight took centre stage as MarineLorD, 1puppypaw, Wam01, and VortiX fought for a place in the Grand Final. The Age of Empires II playoffs followed, with TheViper, Yo, Hearttt, Sebastian, Hera, and Liereyy fighting to keep their championship hopes alive and earn their place in the final.

The tournament culminated at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, where the Grand Finals unfolded in front of a global audience both in person and online. MarineLorD and Wam01 faced off in the Age of Empires IV final, while Hera and Liereyy competed in the Age of Empires II championship match. With titles and the lion’s share of the prize pool on the line, the finalists rose to the occasion.

The Age of Empires IV final between MarineLorD and Wam01 remained neck-and-neck throughout, with both players trading strategic blows before MarineLorD ultimately delivered the decisive play to secure the title.

In Age of Empires II, Liereyy stormed to an early 3-0 lead, putting tournament favourite Hera under immense pressure despite having lost just one game all event. What followed was a remarkable turnaround, as Hera battled back through a series of tense engagements to level the score at 3-3 before pushing ahead. With momentum firmly on his side, Hera completed an extraordinary reverse sweep, winning five consecutive games to claim the championship.
