FreeStyle Football 2 Steps into the Spotlight with New Prime Open Beta Trailer Ahead of PAX West
JOYCITY today released a new Prime Open Beta trailer for FreeStyle Football 2, offering a fresh look at the character-driven 5v5 soccer game ahead of its final public test and appearance at PAX West 2026.
Pre-download for FreeStyle Football 2 Prime Open Beta is now available, allowing players to install the client ahead of the server opening on Sept. 4. The Prime Open Beta will be available through Steam, Xbox and PlayStation with full cross-play between PC and consoles.
The Prime Open Beta introduces several additions shaped by feedback from previous tests, including:
Lena, a new German defender who can play as a wing-back or full-back
Hamburg, a new playable location
The opening chapters of the game’s first single-player Story Mode, added in response to player requests for solo content
Friendly Matches, allowing players to create custom rooms for 5v5 games
A new Goal Replay system
Customizable keyboard controls
Lena is a former professional soccer player and member of a celebrated German motorbike-racing family. After growing up racing alongside her twin sister, Greta, Lena discovered that soccer offered a different kind of connection - one built on cooperation and trust rather than rivalry. Following a career derailed by false doping allegations, she returns to the field through the world of Freestyle Football 2.

Play FreeStyle Football 2 at PAX West
JOYCITY will participate at PAX West, Sept. 4–7, where attendees can play FreeStyle Football 2 at Booth #409 on Level 4 of the Seattle Convention Center.
Six gameplay stations will be available, allowing visitors to play with and against one another alongside AI-controlled players.
Attendees can complete booth missions by playing and wishlisting FreeStyle Football 2 on Steam for the opportunity to receive merchandise, including a custom FreeStyle Football 2 T-shirt featuring their choice of character on the back, while supplies last.
