DayZ Cool Edition is Now Available on Nintendo Switch 2
After more than seven years, DayZ is expanding to a new platform. The iconic hardcore survival game is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 as part of the DayZ Cool Edition, bringing its gritty open-world experience to Nintendo’s latest console, complete with platform-specific features and support for all three play modes.
Created in collaboration with Virtuos Labs – Prague, the DayZ Cool Edition includes the base game and the DayZ Frostline expansion, giving the owners access to three unique environments: the original Chernarus and Livonia maps, as well as the frozen island of Sakhal. The Switch 2 version launches with all official content up to and including the 1.29 Road to Badlands update, with the DayZ Badlands expansion planned to be brought to the platform at a later date. Wishlist the expansion on Steam to stay up to date on its development and future release.
Designed as an online-only experience, DayZ on Nintendo Switch 2 supports servers of up to 60 players on Chernarus and Livonia, and up to 50 players on Sakhal. Players can also create their own customized experiences through community servers supported by Nitrado.
DayZ takes advantage of several features unique to Nintendo Switch 2, including Gyro aiming, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, DLSS and VRR support, touchscreen controls for inventory management, Pro Controller compatibility, and family-group lending. Furthermore, the game can be played across all three play modes, that means TV, Tabletop and Handheld.
