Crown of Hispania brings medieval Iberian grand strategy to Steam Early Access on September 22.

The year is 1035 AD. Sancho III of Navarre has just died, splitting the Iberian Peninsula into rival Christian kingdoms in the north and fractured Muslim taifas in the south. Crown of Hispania, a grand strategy game from developer Regalis Studio, launches into Early Access on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, inviting players to rewrite the Reconquista on their own terms.

Inspired by Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV but built around deeper population simulation, Crown of Hispania treats every character, culture, and religion as a living population that grows, migrates, and reacts dynamically to player decisions. Armies move freely across the map without province restrictions, enabling realistic flanking and positioning. The AI is designed to challenge rather than accommodate, forcing players to earn every inch of territory.

Crown of Hispania launches into Early Access on September 22 with a public roadmap and regular content updates shaped by player feedback. A demo is available now on Steam, letting players take control of Castilla for a 10-year run.

Key features include:

  • Original and Unique Historical Context: A period the genre rarely touches - 11th-century Iberia, fractured between rival Christian kingdoms and Muslim taifas, rebuilt across 300+ provinces modeled on the peninsula’s real terrain. Play a noble of the era and write your own legend through battlefield command, council politics, and the shadows of conspiracy, where retaking Toledo and Granada for Christendom and brokering a fragile coexistence with your neighbors are both live paths

  • Fully simulated population: Every character, culture, and religion exists as a living population that grows, migrates, and reacts dynamically to your decisions

  • Free army movement: Move armies freely across the map without province restrictions, enabling realistic strategies, flanking, and positioning

  • Clever AI: The AI is designed to be challenging rather than passive, forcing the player to deal with difficult situations

  • Dynamic battles: Unique engagement system makes battles more realistic and immersive

Crown of Hispania will be available for $19.99 USD on Steam on September 22, 2026. A demo is live now on Steam. Wishlist now to follow development.
