Check Out This Banana Slamma of a LoFi Album

Curaga Records has just released the newest album in their LoFi Collection, Video Game LoFi: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. The album features ten diverse tracks, each showcasing Michael Staple’s musical prowess from chill and ethereal Lo-Fi hip-hop to heavy hitting Lo-Fi trap. The album truly is a love letter to the original game soundtrack by David Wise.

“Video Game LoFi: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest” will transport players right back to the 1995 SNES era with songs that include heavy Lo-Fi Trap hitter “K.Rool Returns,” the ever funny “Klomp’s Romp,” and the ethereal “Stickerbush Symphony”; the latter which released last month on streaming platforms. Here is what Michael had to say about the album:

“David Wise is one of the best composers in the gaming industry,” says artist Michael Staple, “I wanted to honor him by mostly staying faithful to his compositions for DKC2 while giving it the lofi / chill vibes infused with other genres, which I think people will enjoy. There's something for everyone on this album.”
