Cave Crave Multiplayer Mode Debuts on Meta Quest April 9
3R Games has announced that Cave Crave will receive its early access multiplayer mode on April 9, 2026, launching first on Meta Quest.
The new mode marks the next big step for the viral VR spelunking hit, letting players venture underground together for the first time. Cave Crave is a VR caving experience centered on tense, immersive exploration, where players crawl through tight squeezes with friends, descend on ropes, and journey deep into uncharted caves. With no map to rely on, they must mark their route with chalk and make it back before their flashlight batteries run dry.
So far, the team has confirmed that co-op exploration will include real-life caves such as Nutty Putty, the currently in-development Tham Luang Cave, and future additions still to come. More details on the multiplayer update, including its upcoming content and development roadmap, will be revealed soon.
“Cave Crave continues to grow alongside its community, and multiplayer is an exciting step forward for the experience,” said Piotr Surmacz, CEO of 3R Games. “Testing the new mode has been an absolute blast, and we can’t wait to share more about what players can expect very soon.”
The studio confirmed that the early access launch is currently planned for Meta Quest, while decisions regarding release on additional platforms will be made at a later date.
