Betray your friends (or die) in the Forest of Deceit demo, available in Steam Next Fest
Ghost Camp and Thomas Mackinnon, the creator of the acclaimed games THE CORRIDOR and It Takes a War, announce that Forest of Deceit, their Jackbox-esque social deduction game for 4-8 players, will have a demo available during Steam Next Fest. Influenced by TV shows such as The Traitors, Forest of Deceit opens with a looming storm that will force you and your friends to build a shelter in a matter of days to avoid perishing in the woods.
But the forest is cursed, and drives some of your friends mad to the point that now they’re trying to get you all killed. The game takes influence from many places - from board games to The Traitors!
The studio also announced that Sylvester McCoy - universally known as the Seventh Doctor from Doctor Who, as well as Radagast from The Hobbit movie trilogy - will be the voice of the Narrator in Forest of Deceit.
Forest of Deceit is a casual, back-stabbing experience about surviving a storm and betraying your friends. You can play Forest of Deceit in local and online multiplayer, using your phone, tablet, computer, or any other device with a web browser (you’ll need them to receive secret information – especially if you’re one of the Traitors!). Your group is stranded in a seemingly endless forest, and you’ll need to gather resources every day to build a shelter and survive the storm.
However, as mentioned, some of you become Traitors, driven mad by the dark woods, and will try to prevent this while getting other players lost in the accursed forest. When the results of the day’s gathering are revealed, the group can discuss what happened - and after a few days there will even be a daily vote to expel suspected Traitors from the group. If the Innocents can build the shelter in time, they win! If not… It's a victory for treachery!
KEY FEATURES
