Betray your friends in Forest of Deceit, from the creator of THE CORRIDOR

A STORM IS COMING. If you can’t build a shelter in a matter of days, you and your friends will perish. But the forest is cursed, and is driving some of your friends mad - now they’re trying to get you all killed. From the minds of Ghost Camp and Thomas Mackinnon (creator of the acclaimed experimental games THE CORRIDOR and It Takes a War) comes Forest of Deceit, a Jackbox-esque game for 4-8 players, coming to Steam in early Q3 2026.

Forest of Deceit is a casual, back-stabbing experience about surviving a storm and betraying your friends. You can play Forest of Deceit in local and online multiplayer, using your phone, tablet, computer, or any other device with a web browser (you’ll need them to receive secret information – especially if you’re one of the Traitors!). Your group is stranded in a seemingly endless forest, and you’ll need to gather resources every day to build a shelter and survive the storm.

However, as mentioned, some of you become Traitors, driven mad by the dark woods, and will try to prevent this while getting other players lost in the accursed forest. When the results of the day’s gathering are revealed, the group can discuss what happened - and after a few days there will even be a daily vote to expel suspected Traitors from the group. If the Innocents can build the shelter in time, they win! If not… it’s a victory for treachery!

KEY FEATURES

  • Gather resources to build a shelter against the upcoming storm. If you are a Traitor, you will try to get other people lost in the forest, and hinder the group’s efforts by collecting bad resources.

  • Discuss what happened, and eventually start voting suspect Traitors out. If the Traitors can prevent the Innocents building a shelter in time, they win.

  • Create your own house rules: An endlessly replayable party game, with fully customisable game options.

  • Use your own phones, tablets, or computers for each player to play right from their very own web browser.

  • Easy-to-play social deduction game, with a simple gameplay loop: Focusing on casual play and social interaction, Forest of Deceit is fun for all kinds of players (from a family experience to group meetings; from non-gamers to hardcore players!)

  • Fantastic for both local multiplayer and online play. Works great with screen-sharing for online play - we recommend Discord!
