A rage-inducing co-op game: "Hold Your King"

Independent game development studio Next Big Games has officially announced the demo version and Steam wishlist launch for its physics-based co-op platformer, Hold Your King. Inviting players to carry an angry King (and now, with the new update, the Queen as well) on a stretcher through deadly medieval parkour courses, the game is here to test friendships with its theme: "communicate or descend into chaos."

Carry the King, Survive, and Whatever You Do, Don’t Make Him Angry!

Hold Your King takes place in a world built entirely around physics simulation. Players team up in groups of 2 to 4 and try to keep a grumpy King and Queen balanced on a stretcher. But this is far from a simple walking simulator; your speed, momentum, and turning angle all directly affect the King’s balance.

The King (and the accompanying Queen) are not just objects; they are responsive, characterful figures who react to their surroundings. If they are shaken too much or fall to the ground, a chaotic storm of whips and rage-filled tantrums awaits you.

Key Features:

  • 4-Player Online Chaos: Team up with up to 4 players, whether friends or viewers.

  • Advanced Physics Mechanics: Lift, lower, or rotate the stretcher; every move determines the King’s fate.

  • "Bonk" Control: You can gently bonk the King to calm him down, but be careful; this high-risk move may not always please him!

  • The Queen Factor: It’s no longer just the King; the Queen has joined the journey, and the King isn’t going anywhere without her. That means more weight to manage and more drama to handle.

  • Dynamic Medieval Obstacle Courses: Show off your coordination among swinging traps, collapsing platforms, and flying cannonballs.

  • High "Clip" Potential: Real-time ragdoll physics and last-second saves turn the game into a full comedy machine for streamers and content creators.
