Gearbox Announces Risk of Rain Livestream Event + Release Dates for Two Risk of Rain Titles

Gearbox has just announced an upcoming Risk of Rain franchise livestream celebration, dubbed “The Festival of Gup,” set to take place on November 8, 2023.

This livestream commemorates the 10-year anniversary of Risk of Rain. Additionally, Gearbox announced that the remake of the classic roguelike, Risk of Rain Returns, as well as the console version of Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void, will launch the same day, November 8. Gearbox also revealed the Risk of Rain Returns final Survivor: Pilot.

  • Jam-packed with announcements and community celebrations, The Festival of Gup will be the biggest Risk of Rain news drop EVER. The Festival of Gup will be livestreamed on the official Gearbox Twitch on Wednesday, November 8 at 10:30 am PT.

  • Risk of Rain Returns is a complete remake of Risk of Rain 1 from the ground up with additional features, enhanced visuals, and new music from composer Chris Christodoulou.

  • Meet Pilot, a highly mobile and context-sensitive Survivor like no other, set to join the Risk of Rain Returns line-up.

    • Pilot is equipped with a range of utility, direct, and airborne abilities. His signature move, Clusterfire, is a triple burst shot that can damage groups of enemies or finish them off.

    • Players will be able to explore Pilot's other abilities, including his unlockable alternate skills, when Risk of Rain Returns launches on November 8.

  • Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void, the game’s first DLC expansion, is releasing for console on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The expansion introduces two Survivors-Railgunner and Void Fiend-as well as the Simulacrum game mode, additional environments, items, and more to console players. This comes alongside a substantial overhaul of the core game, future-proofing the title for faster bug fixes, performance improvements, and more content across all platforms.
